There is a Kabbalistic (Jewish mysticism) legend, that suggests in the creation of the world a vessel of divine light was shattered. Its sparks were spread across the universe and embedded in every living creature. The task of humanity, it is told, is to gather the light in order to bring in a time of peace. For those whose light is near being extinguished, we can reach within ourselves, remember and kindle their lives with a match from our soul.
